This discussion seems like it has been going on forever. I can not say whether he used enhancement drugs or not. However, there is no physical evidence of him using them. We can all point to his weight gain as some sort of proof but that would be bogus. I am a 30 year old man, I weighed 215 pounds before winter started, by mid winter I weighed 230 pounds. When I was younger it was easier to keep the weight off but as I got older it became harder to shed the extra baggage. Fact is, people gain weight for various reasons.
I say leave him alone until someone can physically prove that he has used enhancement drugs. In my mind, he is innocent until someone proves otherwise.
The home run record that he holds should not have an Astrix beside it. He should not be held out of the Hall Of Fame either. He was a darn good baseball player before the allegations, winning multiple MVP's. This guy has taken a beating from the fans and media. It needs to stop. There's speculation that other prominent baseball players have used enhancement drugs but they never took the same abuse that Bonds has.
My point is if you are going to go after these guys, then do so equally. Tell Roger Clemens that his multiple Cy Young Awards will be given an astrix. Fire away on Mark McGuire for his incredible hulk features and physique. I want to see these guys challenged equally. Don't throw love taps at one person and stiff jabs at another. Attack them equally.
Barry Bonds is innocent until something or someone proves otherwise.
