After 17 seasons in the NFL, Brett Favre has decided to call it quits.
"He has had one of the greatest careers in the history of the National Football League, and he is able to walk away from the game on his own terms - not many players are able to do that," Packers general manager Ted Thompson said Tuesday.
This is a sad day for football fans. Brett has been a mainstay in Green Bay for several years. He has accomplished a lot both on and off the field. He's a role model for children. He was one of the games best quarterbacks.
I'm happy he was able to leave the game in good health and under his own terms. He went out as a winner.
Congrats on a great career Brett. Future Hall of Famer.
